Voom HD Satellite System Launch Events

Overview:
As one of the nation's leading entertainment and telecommunications companies, Cablevision is in the forefront of high-definition satellite television. With the development of Voom, a subscriber-based satellite system, HDTV owners have access to 39 premium high definition channels including 21 brand-new, exclusive and commercial-free HD channels. Voom needed to be introduced to the press, analysts and the industry with some technological wizardry, fanfare and excitement.

Plan:
Eventage coordinated initial venue research with the client, who eventually decided on Tribute, a multimedia-packed event space in lower Manhattan. Tribute provided a flexible space for catered launch events, as well as two state-of-the-art high definition theaters, where Voom would officially be introduced to a varied list of audiences.
Eventage managed the rehearsal and show-development process for the in-theater presentation and simulcast, which included multiple HD video rolls as well as remarks from Cablevision executives including Chairman Charles Dolan. Outside the theaters, Eventage installed 16 high definition plasma screens, which were networked to a series of HD decks running Voom footage. In addition, Eventage designed and built four custom plasma screen kiosks which displayed the live satellite feed as well as promotional loops running off of HD decks.
On launch day, Eventage produced a press breakfast which led into the 30 minute HD press conference in the theater. Later that day, the presentation was repeated for industry analysts. The day closed with a dazzling party with a live swing band, upscale catering and celebrity appearances.
