Project:
Windows XP Launch Events
Client:
Microsoft Corporation
Overview:
For the launch of Microsofts
new operating system, a series of events were
planned in the New York metropolitan area in October,
2001. Eventage worked with the Microsofts
New York regional office on events in Manhattan,
Long Island and Stamford, CT.
Production
Plan:
Eventage scouted and
selected three diverse venues for the events,
which ranged from an upscale cocktail party to
conference presentations with ancillary trade
show areas.
For the cocktail party,
which was held in Manhattan, Eventage worked closely
with Microsoft and the venue to design the room
layout, a menu and a run of show for the evening
which included remarks from Microsofts Chairman
and Chief Software Architect, Bill Gates.
The conference-style
launch events were held on Long Island and in
Stamford, Connecticut. Eventage worked with its
audio-visual partners to create a dynamic multimedia
introduction in the general session auditorium.
Each event also included a Partner Pavilion, featuring
major corporations from the computing and software
industries as well as a virtual reality game area
which allowed attendees to try their luck at golf,
basketball and a giant "money" booth.
Eventage also managed registration, food services
and heightened security at the events.
Results:
Over 2,500 people attended
the three launch events in the New York metro
area. As a result of these launch events, the
New York District was awarded first place in the
companys Max-the-Mix contest for creating
the best Windows XP launch in the nation.
Client
Feedback:
"You are truly
the best! I honestly dont know how we could
have done it without you. Eventage continues to
be a valued team member in producing first-rate
events for Microsoft." Salvatore J. Chiarelli,
