Project:
The ING New York City Marathon is the world's largest marathon, attracting 47,000 participants and millions of spectators in all five Cboroughs. Since 2005, Eventage has been a New York Road Runners partner, managing portions of the massive event in Staten Island and along the 26.2 mile course.

Deliverables

  • Manage three participant zones at the race's start area in Staten Island.
  • Coordinate the display and distribution of sponsor product to the 39,000 runners in the hours before the start.
  • Manage over one hundred volunteers.
  • Receive, inventory and prepare food, drink, medical and other sponsor product for both the start line and the course's medical stations in the week before the race.
  • Set up and manage 26 medical stations along the marathon course.
  • Inventory & guarantee accuracy of supplies, delivery locations & timing.
  • Design and implement an independent deployment system to ensure the secure transport and timely delivery of the Professional Athlete fluids to seven stations along the course.
  • Logistical coordination of the Athletes with Disabilities program.

By the Numbers

  • 90 Eventage staff assigned to positions at the Start Line and throughout the five boroughs along the course
  • Eleven 24' box trucks, 2 vans, 3 Gators and 1 forklift to move people, equipment and supplies
  • A great deal of coffee (provided by official sponsor Dunkin' Donuts)
  • 20,000 Power Bars, 87,000 cups, 440 garbage cans, 33 pop-up tents, 122 medical cots, 5,290 Band Aids, 6,600 tongue depressors, 27,750 salt packets, 167 cases of Gatorade concentrate
